I've been in this position for five years at the Stem Academy. Before that, I taught eighth grade ELA and Social Studies in the district for five years. Prior to Lowell, I taught 6-8 ELA in Massachusetts and Tennessee. I also coach the Stem's Cross Country team with Mr. Hernandez love running myself, going for hikes with my dog, Scout, and reading, especially at the beach.

I love teaching math and helping students realize that we use math in everyday life. In my spare time, I enjoy being with my three kids who are 6, 10 and 12. We like to hike, be outside, go to the beach and eat a lot ice cream. On the weekends, you can find me attending their sporting events with a Starbucks coffee in hand. One of my favorite things to do is sit on the beach and read a good book.

I've been a teacher in Lowell for 17 years! I love the community of Lowell and consider myself lucky to work in a city with such a wide variety of cultures! I absolutely love to read and my goal is to get my students to love to read too! This year my personal goal is to read 24 books by the end of December. I'm almost there! What's your reading goal this year?

My favorite shark is the Whale Shark! I like this shark because they are quite beautiful and I think it's pretty interesting that they have teeth on their eyeballs! Also, they swim pretty slow so I might stand a chance of survival if I ever come across one while swimming someday!
