On May 7, 2025, the Lowell School Committee voted to withdraw from participating in the Inter-District School Choice program for the 2025-2026 school year.
The Family Resource Center is closed EVERY FRIDAY from 8am-10am.

WORK PERMITS
Work permits are issued in person Monday through Friday after 2 p.m. In order to be issued a work permit, students need to come to the Family Resource Center and submit their completed two-page permit application and proof of age (one of the following: birth certificate, driver's license, driver's permit, or passport.)
Important:
- The student must be present for the permit to be issued.
- The employer must sign the permit PRIOR to Lowell Public Schools issuing the permit.
- If you need the paperwork for your employer to complete, please download from our website.
If you are a student at the Greater Lowell Technical High School, that school will issue you a work permit. We are unable to issue permits to vocational school students or students who do not reside in Lowell.
We do not issue work permits for New Hampshire.
