What is SAYO?
As part of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant, all programs in Lowell Public Schools use the Survey of Academic and Youth Outcomes (SAYO). SAYO is a tool developed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education to measure student growth in important areas such as communication, engagement in learning, relationships with adults and peers, and self-regulation. Students and teachers complete surveys that provide valuable feedback on how the program is helping students grow both academically and socially.
Federal guidelines require us to share SAYO results publicly, and we are pleased to make this information available to families. If you have questions about your school’s SAYO results or the survey process, please reach out to your school’s Site Manager or contact the District Coordinator, Rebecca Duda, at
